Personal reflection about my origins on my mother side, trying to express my memories through garments.

In this collection, I aimed to pay tribute to this very particular universe I know since my childhood : its warm colors, typical patterns, imposing yet delicate jewelry, but also its veil, the symbol of a controversy. 

​

As I clearly did not only want to make this symbol of oppression an attractive fashion accessory, not to disrespect Iranian women who fight for their rights, the veil is only evoked by pearl fringes, waving from the head to the shoulders, as a metaphor of censure. Like the veil, keeping women away from being completely free, the link is made between the skull and the rest of the body.
